Faux fur and sherpa are machine washable, but they don’t like heat or fabric conditioner: that’s what mats the fibres and takes away their softness.
Day to day
- Brush gently with a soft brush to remove dust, hair and fluff; a vacuum cleaner on low power with the brush attachment works too.
- A fresh stain can be blotted without rubbing, without taking anything off.
Washing
- Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with a detergent for delicates, with no fabric conditioner or bleach.
- Gentle spin, 800 rpm maximum.
Drying
- Dry flat or on a clothes airer, in the open air, out of direct sunlight. Once dry, brush lightly to bring back the soft feel.
Avoid
- Tumble dryer, radiator, hot water, fabric conditioner, bleach.
