About 2 minutes, no tools

Close the click-clack and find the label
Fit the cover in the sofa position, with the bed folded up. A label sewn into the cover shows which way it goes on: find it before you start. The cover looks small when you unpack it: that's normal, it stretches.
Pull the cover over the sofa bed
Place it over the back, then pull the fabric over the seat and the sides, until the click-clack is fully covered. Tuck the excess into the central fold, between the seat and the back.
Fit the strap
Once the click-clack is covered, fit the strap underneath the base.
Smooth, then open it once
Smooth the fabric by hand, from the centre to the edges. Then unfold the click-clack once to check that nothing gets in the way of the movement.

To wash it, take it off the same way, with the click-clack closed.

A faux leather click-clack, for rooms where drinks get spilt

A faux leather with a smooth, sealed, slightly satin surface: spilt liquid doesn't soak into the material and wipes off with a damp sponge. It's the material for the spare room that doubles as an office, the playroom, the living room where you eat in front of the screen.

The cover wraps the click-clack in one piece, seat and back, and pulls taut by itself: the material stretches and follows the fold.

Three plain colours, from bluish grey to mahogany brown.

Choosing the right size: measure before you order

It's the one step where a mistake means a return. With the click-clack folded up in sofa position, measure its length from one end of the seat to the other, arms excluded — a click-clack usually doesn't have any.

A click-clack or fold-out sofa bed opens out: a cover that’s too long at the sides, or caught at the back, gets in the way of the mechanism. This one is cut short at the sides and left open at the back, where the backrest tilts.

How to measure

With the sofa bed closed, measure from one edge to the other, on the outside. If you’re between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Care

The surface is sealed: nothing soaks through, and hair and liquids sit on top. Keep it out of the washing machine — it could make the coating peel. A cloth does the same job, with no risk.

Day to day

A well wrung-out sponge or a damp cloth, with lukewarm water and a little mild soap if needed, including for greasy marks, in light circular movements.
Wipe dry with a cloth to avoid watermarks; faux leather is cleaned in place, without taking it off.
Pet hair slides off: a sweep of the hand or a cloth removes it.

Washing

No washing machine, no soaking, no harsh detergent.

Drying

Air dry, away from radiators and hairdryers, and out of direct sunlight, which dries out the coating.

Can I open the click-clack without removing the cover?

Yes, as long as you choose the right size: S for 120 to 145 cm, M for 150 to 185 cm, L for 190 to 210 cm, measured with the sofa bed closed. The cover stays short at the sides and open at the back, so it follows the folding.
