Description

Two velvet cushions to match your sofa

A pack of two matching 45 × 45 cm velvet cushion covers, in the shades of our Velvet Sofa Cover: the cushion blends into the sofa, or plays off it.

The velvet is the same as on our Velvet Sofa Cover: a short-pile velvet, soft to the touch, on a knit that stretches both ways and pulls taut over the cushion. It catches the light the way velvet does and goes on in a minute.

Check before you order

One size: 45 × 45 cm, for standard sofa cushions. This is the cover only, with no filling — your current cushion goes inside. Measure it from edge to edge: between 40 and 45 cm, the cover fits it snugly.

The pack costs the same whatever the colour.

Care

Machine washable at 30°C. Air dry, no ironing. Take the cover off, wash it, put it back on.

How many you need

Sizing and fitting

Size 45 × 45 cm: measure your cushion flat, from seam to seam. This cover fits a cushion 40 to 45 cm square.

Fitting

Slip the cushion into the cover, close it and put it back. About a minute, no tools needed.

Care

Velvet is all about its pile: too much heat or a tumble dryer crushes it, and the colour looks stained when the pile is only flattened. Brushing in the direction of the pile lifts it back up.

Day to day

Blot any spill straight away, dabbing gently: velvet has no water-repellent finish.
Between washes, use a soft brush or the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner, always in the direction of the pile.

Washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, with the cover turned inside out and a detergent for delicates, with no bleach or fabric conditioner.
Very gentle spin, 600 rpm maximum — or no spin at all.

Drying

Dry flat, in the open air, out of direct sunlight. Wait until it’s dry before brushing it in the direction of the pile and putting it back on.

Avoid

Tumble dryer, ironing the pile (even on a low heat), bleach, rubbing it dry, putting it back on while it’s still wet.

Care guide

The cushion covers are washed one at a time: the cycle is shorter, and the rest of the sofa stays covered.

Does pet hair cling to velvet?

Short-pile velvet brushes clean: a sweep of the hand or a brush in the direction of the pile removes it, and the cover goes in the machine at 30°C. Velvet does not repel liquids: wipe up any spill straight away.
