Stretch Sofa Cushion Cover

It's the cushions you cover, not the sofa

Your seat cushions are stained, faded or saggy, but the sofa's frame is still sound. This cover goes on each cushion separately, like a fitted sheet on a mattress, and comes off just as quickly for washing.

The stretch fabric pulls taut over the cushion, with elastic at all four corners. Lift the cushion, slip the cover on, put the cushion back. One minute per cushion, no tools.

Eleven patterns, all different. You can use the same pattern on every cushion, or mix two or three for a sofa like no other.

Choosing the right size: measure before you order

It's the one step where a mistake means a return. Get out a tape measure and take two measurements of one cushion, lying flat, with its current cover removed: its width from front to back (the first figure in our sizes), then its length from side to side (the second figure).

Cushions up to 65 cm from front to back

The price depends only on the size and is shown in the selector. The pattern you choose never changes it.

If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger one: the fabric stretches, but only so far.

How many you need

One cover fits one cushion. A 3-seater sofa whose seat is made of three separate cushions needs three covers, and three more if you want to cover the back cushions too.

Count your cushions before you order, not your seats: it isn't always the same number.

On orders of £85 or more, delivery is free, plus two free cushion covers: your basket lets you choose them.

Care

Machine washable at 30°C. Take the cover off, wash it, put it back on. The fabric gets its shape back.

The eleven patterns

Grey palm leaves and Orange and navy patchwork also come as sofa and armchair covers, if you want to match the whole living room.

This isn’t a sofa cover: each seat or back cushion gets its own, slipped on like a fitted sheet. Allow one cover per cushion — a 2-seater sofa with two seat cushions and two back cushions needs four, a 3-seater needs six.

How to measure

• Lay the cushion flat, with its current cover removed if needed.
• Measure the cushion from front to back (the width on our size chart), then from side to side (the length).
• Choose the size that covers both; if your measurements fall right between two sizes, choose the larger one. The measurements of each size are shown in the size selector.

Fitting

• Lift the cushion, hook the cover over two opposite corners, stretch it over the other two, smooth it out and put the cushion back. About a minute per cushion, no tools.

Fitting guide

What matters here is the stretch of the knit. Too much heat, fabric conditioner or the tumble dryer will loosen it, and the cover ends up baggy on your furniture.

Day to day

• Blot a fresh stain from the edge towards the centre with a damp cloth, without rubbing. There’s no need to take the cover off for a one-off spill.

Washing

• Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, with no bleach or fabric conditioner.
• Wash it on its own if it’s a sofa cover: it needs room to rinse properly.

Drying

• Air dry on a clothes airer. Put it back on while it’s still slightly damp: it tightens up by itself as it finishes drying.

Avoid

• Tumble dryer, radiator, fabric conditioner, bleach.

These simple habits are what keep the knit stretchy.
