Pick the piece
Each piece covers one area: back, seat or arm. Start with the seats, then the backs, and finish with the arms.
Lay it like a rug
With the textured non-slip underside facing down, centre the piece and smooth it by hand: it grips the sofa fabric, with no straps or fastenings.
Tuck in the excess
Tuck the excess into the fold between the seat and the back, then move on to the next piece. To wash, just lift off the piece you need.

A 2-seater set, for example: 2 back pieces 90 × 90, 2 arm pieces 70 × 70 and a seat piece 90 × 160. Depending on the shape of your sofa, a single long piece can replace two back pieces.

Description

The most understated chenille in the range

Chenille with no texture: a flat, dense, velvety finish, soft to the touch. It's the most understated fabric in the range — the one that blends in and lets the sofa be a sofa.

The five colours: Grey, Ecru, Camel, Blue chenille and Olive.

The cover comes in 21 sizes: 4 full sets — armchair, 2-, 3- and 4-seater sofa — and 17 single pieces, from 70 × 70 cm to 110 × 240 cm. You can cover the seat, the back cushions and the tops of the arms, or just the seat that is wearing out.

The non-slip underside

The EasyCover™ range is the only one in our catalogue with a non-slip underside: a textured inner face that grips the sofa fabric instead of just resting on it. That's what sets it apart from our other ranges.

Sizing and fitting

EasyCover™ isn’t slipped on: it’s made of pieces laid flat on the seat, back or arms, with a textured non-slip underside. You choose a full set or single pieces.

Full sets

Armchair (4 pieces), 2-seater sofa (5 pieces), 3-seater sofa (6 pieces), 4-seater sofa (6 pieces).
A 2-seater set, for example: 2 back pieces of 90 × 90 cm, 2 arm pieces of 70 × 70 cm and a seat piece of 90 × 160 cm. Depending on the shape of your sofa, one long piece can replace the two back pieces.
Corner or U-shaped sofa: one section at a time, with a set or single pieces.

How to measure

For a set, the total width of the sofa, from one arm to the other, is all you need to choose it; then check that the seat depth and the back height fall within its ranges. For a single piece, measure the area to cover in both directions.
Seventeen sizes, from 70 × 70 cm to 110 × 240 cm: choose the one that covers both your measurements.

Fitting

Unfold the piece with the non-slip side facing down, centre it, smooth it with your hand, then tuck the excess into the crease between the seat and the back. Seats first, then backs, then arms. No straps needed, about 2 minutes for a full set.

Care

The fabric is machine washable, like any ordinary cover. What’s different is the non-slip underside: no tumble dryer, no soaking. It’s what gives the cover its grip.

Day to day

A fresh stain can be blotted without taking the piece off; to wash, just lift off the piece concerned.
Wipe the underside with a barely damp sponge.
Ribbed chenille: brush gently along the ribs; chenille: in the direction of the pile. Herringbone weave: a quick vacuum is enough.

Washing

Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, with no bleach or fabric conditioner.
Chenille and ribbed chenille: gentle spin, 800 rpm maximum, so the texture doesn’t flatten.

Drying

Air dry on a clothes airer; dry ribbed chenille flat to keep its ribs.
Faux fur and sherpa: see their own care page, and brush once dry.

Avoid

Tumble dryer, radiator, bleach, fabric conditioner, soaking the underside, ironing chenille.

Do the pieces need straps?

No, no straps at all. The non-slip underside is a textured surface that grips the fabric of your sofa: you lay the piece down and smooth it out.

Full set or single pieces?

The set contains the pieces for the back, seat and arms: for example, the 2-seater set has 2 back pieces 90 × 90, 2 arm pieces 70 × 70 and a seat piece 90 × 160 (armchair 4 pieces, 3-seater 6, 4-seater 6). With single pieces, you only cover what wears — the seat, for example — in 17 sizes from 70 × 70 to 110 × 240 cm.

What about a corner sofa?

One piece per seat or per section: combine the single sizes to suit your measurements, and email us a photo at contact@thesofacoverhouse.com if you’re unsure.

How do I wash it?

The fabric goes in the machine at 30°C. The non-slip underside must not go in the tumble dryer or be left to soak: air dry.

Will the colour match the photo?

Our photos are studio shots of our fabric, not computer-generated images. A screen can alter a shade slightly: if in doubt, email us at contact@thesofacoverhouse.com and ask for a daylight photo of the colour. And if the shade you receive isn’t right for you, you have 30 days from delivery to return it (return postage is at your cost).
