Start with the back
Place the cover over the top of the chair back, right side facing you. The stretch fabric follows the shape.
Bring it down the back
Slide the cover down until the whole back is covered, without forcing: it stretches.
Cover the seat and fasten
Pull the bottom of the cover over the seat, smooth from the centre to the edges, then fasten the elastic under the seat. One cover per chair.

Description

The chair you wipe clean in one go

A supple faux leather with a sealed surface: liquids don't soak in, they stay on top and come off with a wipe of a sponge. On this material, the word waterproof is accurate. It's the cover for chairs used at every meal, with children, with a dog that puts its paws up.

The faux leather is backed with a stretch knit: the cover slips on over the back, pulls taut over the seat and fastens with elastic under the seat. No tools, thirty seconds per chair. Its smooth look gives a wooden or plastic chair the feel of an upholstered one.

Check before you order

One size, for dining, kitchen and desk chairs without arms: a back 45 to 60 cm high and 40 to 50 cm wide, a seat of 40 to 50 cm, 2 to 10 cm thick. Measure the back from the top down to the seat, then its width, and the seat from edge to edge. It won't fit a chair with arms, a garden chair or a bar stool. Care

A wipe with a damp sponge is all it needs. It isn't machine washable: faux leather can't take it.

Fitting

Slip it over the back from the top, pull it down to the seat, smooth it from the centre outwards and secure the elastic under the seat. About 30 seconds, no tools. On a smooth chair (metal, plastic), pull the elastic nice and tight.

Care

The surface is sealed: nothing soaks through, and hair and liquids sit on top. Keep it out of the washing machine — it could make the coating peel. A cloth does the same job, with no risk.

Day to day

A well wrung-out sponge or a damp cloth, with lukewarm water and a little mild soap if needed, including for greasy marks, in light circular movements.
Wipe dry with a cloth to avoid watermarks; faux leather is cleaned in place, without taking it off.
Pet hair slides off: a sweep of the hand or a cloth removes it.

Washing

No washing machine, no soaking, no harsh detergent.

Drying

Air dry, away from radiators and hairdryers, and out of direct sunlight, which dries out the coating.

Avoid

Washing machine, tumble dryer, bleach, alcohol, acetone, abrasive sponges, direct heat.

Will it fit my chairs?

Is the faux leather stiff?

No: it’s backed with a stretch knit, so it stretches both ways and pulls snugly over the shape of the furniture. It feels a little firmer than fabric.

How do I clean the faux leather?

Wipe it with a damp sponge, with mild soap if needed, then a dry cloth to avoid marks. No washing machine and no soaking: the machine could make the coating peel off.
