Fitting in 4 steps

About 2 minutes, no tools

Close the click-clack and find the label
Fit the cover in the sofa position, with the bed folded up. A label sewn into the cover shows which way it goes on: find it before you start. The cover looks small when you unpack it: that's normal, it stretches.
Pull the cover over the sofa bed
Place it over the back, then pull the fabric over the seat and the sides, until the click-clack is fully covered. Tuck the excess into the central fold, between the seat and the back.
Fit the strap
Once the click-clack is covered, fit the strap underneath the base.
Smooth, then open it once
Smooth the fabric by hand, from the centre to the edges. Then unfold the click-clack once to check that nothing gets in the way of the movement.

To wash it, take it off the same way, with the click-clack closed.

Description

The click-clack in the spare room, the playroom, the living room where you eat

A water-repellent jacquard fabric: a spilt drink beads on the surface instead of soaking in, and you can mop it up before it goes through. The fabric keeps its raised texture, thicker and firmer than a jersey.

The cover wraps the click-clack in one piece, seat and back, and pulls taut by itself: with 12% elastane, it stretches and follows the fold.

Nine plain colours, from light grey to olive green, for a click-clack that blends into the room.

Choosing the right size: measure before you order

It's the one step where a mistake means a return. With the click-clack folded up in sofa position, measure its length from one end of the seat to the other, arms excluded — a click-clack usually doesn't have any.

S, for a length of 150 to 190 cm (60-74 in)
L, for a length of 190 to 210 cm (75-82 in)

The price depends only on the size and is shown in the selector. The colour you choose never changes it.

If your measurement is exactly 190 cm, choose the L: the fabric stretches, but only so far.

Sizing and fitting

A click-clack or fold-out sofa bed opens out: a cover that’s too long at the sides, or caught at the back, gets in the way of the mechanism. This one is cut short at the sides and left open at the back, where the backrest tilts.

How to measure

With the sofa bed closed, measure from one edge to the other, on the outside. If you’re between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Fitting

Slip it on with the sofa bed closed, and tuck the excess into the fold in the middle. Then open it once to check that nothing gets in the way. No tools, about 2 minutes.

Fitting guide

Care

The water-repellent finish gives you time, it doesn’t seal the fabric: liquids bead on the surface, you blot them up, and nothing sets in. Fabric conditioner clogs the finish and cancels it out, and so does the heat of a tumble dryer.

Day to day

Blot while the liquid is still on the surface. Dab, never rub: rubbing pushes the liquid between the threads.
Vacuum now and then in the direction of the weave; a soft brush cleans the texture.
If a spill has been left to sit, a full wash will freshen the fabric — the water-repellent finish can’t prevent a stain that’s left too long.

Washing

Turn the cover inside out to protect the texture.
Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with a gentle liquid detergent, with no fabric conditioner or bleach.
Gentle spin, 800 rpm maximum.

Drying

Dry flat or on a clothes airer, in the open air. Put the cover back on while it’s still slightly damp so it tightens back up; the water-repellent finish reactivates as it dries.

Avoid

Fabric conditioner, tumble dryer, bleach, rubbing, a hot iron on the right side.

Can I open the click-clack without removing the cover?

Yes, on most mechanisms, as long as you choose the right size: S for 150 to 190 cm, L for 190 to 210 cm, measured with the sofa bed closed. The cover stays short at the sides and open at the back, so it follows the folding.

How do I choose between S and L?

With the click-clack closed, measure the length of the seat from one edge to the other. Up to 190 cm: S. From 190 to 210 cm: L. Exactly 190 cm: take the L — the fabric stretches, but it can’t get any longer.

Will it fit a fold-out sofa bed or another sofa bed?

Yes: click-clack, fold-out and other sofa beds without arms, 150 to 210 cm long, in two sizes.

Water-repellent or waterproof: what’s the difference?

Water-repellent: liquid beads on the surface and you have time to mop it up; a puddle left for a long time will eventually soak through. Waterproof (the EasyCover™ Waterproof Sofa Cover, faux leather): nothing gets through. For meals and drinks on the click-clack, water-repellent is enough; with young children or a pet, take a look at our faux leather click-clack sofa bed cover: nothing gets through, and a wipe with a damp sponge is enough.

Does the water-repellent finish last through washing?

It fades gradually with washing. To make it last, machine wash at 30°C without fabric softener, which clogs the finish. Air dry.
