Description

A plain cover to match the water-repellent sofa

The 45 × 45 cm cushion cover in the same jacquard as our water-repellent sofa covers, sold singly and in the same colours: the cushion blends into the sofa, or echoes it.

The fabric is the same as on our water-repellent sofa covers: a polyester and elastane jacquard with a small waffle texture and a water-repellent finish. A spill beads on the surface, so you have time to wipe it with a cloth before it soaks through. The texture makes everyday marks less visible and gives your cushions the look of a matching set.

Check before you order

One size: 45 × 45 cm, for standard sofa cushions. This is the cover only, with no filling — your current cushion goes inside. Measure it from edge to edge: between 40 and 45 cm, the cover fits it snugly.

The price is the same whatever the colour. The patterns come in a pack of 2, on a separate page.

Care

Machine washable at 30°C. Air dry, no ironing. Take the cover off, wash it, put it back on.

Sizing and fitting

Size 45 × 45 cm: measure your cushion flat, from seam to seam. This cover fits a cushion 40 to 45 cm square.

Fitting

Slip the cushion into the cover, close it and put it back. About a minute, no tools needed.

Care

The water-repellent finish gives you time, it doesn’t seal the fabric: liquids bead on the surface, you blot them up, and nothing sets in. Fabric conditioner clogs the finish and cancels it out, and so does the heat of a tumble dryer.

Day to day

Blot while the liquid is still on the surface. Dab, never rub: rubbing pushes the liquid between the threads.
Vacuum now and then in the direction of the weave; a soft brush cleans the texture.
If a spill has been left to sit, a full wash will freshen the fabric — the water-repellent finish can’t prevent a stain that’s left too long.

Washing

Turn the cover inside out to protect the texture.
Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle with a gentle liquid detergent, with no fabric conditioner or bleach.
Gentle spin, 800 rpm maximum.

Drying

Dry flat or on a clothes airer, in the open air. Put the cover back on while it’s still slightly damp so it tightens back up; the water-repellent finish reactivates as it dries.

Avoid

Fabric conditioner, tumble dryer, bleach, rubbing, a hot iron on the right side.

Care guide

The cushion covers are washed one at a time: the cycle is shorter, and the rest of the sofa stays covered.

How does it close?

With a zip: slip the cushion in, zip it up and pat it to spread the filling evenly.

Single or pack of 2?

This page sells the plain cover singly: for two cushions, order two. The water-repellent patterns are sold in packs of 2, on the patterned pack page.

Water-repellent or waterproof: what’s the difference?

Water-repellent: liquid beads on the surface and you have time to mop it up; a puddle left for a long time will eventually soak through. Waterproof (faux leather, the EasyCover™ Waterproof Sofa Cover): nothing gets through. For meals and drinks, water-repellent is enough; for a pet or young children, take a look at the faux leather cushion cover.
